Projects
PHASE ONE
This phase will involve rehabilitating five classrooms of the junior block both, inside (floors and walls) and steps outside. This will make sure that pupils no longer sit in holes and that pupils and teachers can go in classrooms without the fear of falling and breaking their body parts.
The work for Phase One will commerce in May/June, 2014, when garden work is over and community members are free and have time to volunteer. By then we hope that we will have raised enough funds to meet the budget which is estimated at $1,200.
According to the Headmaster of Mlowe Primary School, Mr. Yotam Kalua, a constructor has already been identified and some materials, like sand, was already provided voluntarily by the community. That means the money we raise will take care of cement. Thus why we suggest as an option to donate a bag or two of cement. You can give us the money and we will gladly buy it for you. Or you can drop it off at the Headmaster's office if you are visiting Mlowe. You can even ask anyone you know to do that for you. In other words, we encourage you to donate directly to the responsible committees on the ground in Mlowe. Just make sure you let us know for accountability.
We are glad to inform you that Phase One will go as planned and that we are very pleased with the progress so far both financially and materially. The people who have responded so far have done it very positively and significantly. We will report the proceeds sometime early next year.
Enjoy your Holidays!
